Colorado 14er “Weekend Trip"
Trip Leader: Nate Pelletier
Destination: La Plata Peak- Ellingwood Ridge Route (Class 2–4)
Who: Experienced climbers comfortable with Class 2–4 scrambling at high altitude
• Physically capable of meeting the demands of climbing above 14K feet
• Comfortable with Class 3-5 scrambling without a rope
What: Provide an opportunity for current and non-CMC members who are experienced and comfortable with Class 2–4 scrambling at higher altitudes
• This is not an official CMC event, permitted or guided climb
• The trip leader will provide guidance, but each climber is responsible for their own decision making on the mountain
• The trip leader will provide logistics support to and from, basic guidance, and communications on the mountain
When: June 12th-13th(recommend departure morning of the 14th)
• Friday AM/PM: Fly to Denver by time of day in planning document
? I will arrange transportation to and from the trailhead for the group
? Make a stop for supplies, food, etc.
? If you drive on your own, meet us at the trailhead
• Friday PM: Camp at trailhead, briefing and climb preparation
• Saturday AM: 4am start, prepare for 12-14 hours of climbing
• Saturday PM: transport back to Denver
• Saturday PM/Sunday AM: transport to Denver airport
Costs: Individual flight to DEN airport and % share of rental vehicle

Why: Promote the enjoyment of responsible non-technical mountaineering for new climbers, experienced climbers and grow the CMC mountaineering membership.
